On Friday Team Kahikatea was very lucky to be involved in the 2017 "Chinese Culture on the road" day which is arranged through the Confucius Institute at the University of Canterbury (CIUC).
Chinese Culture on the Road is a one-day mini cultural fair to promote multicultural
awareness, increase the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture, and stimulate
interest in Chinese language study amongst New Zealand school students in Christchurch.
Team Kahikatea was split into three groups and had the opportunity to participate in; Chinese calligraphy, Martial Arts and cooking dumplings. We were incredibly lucky to be part of such a wonderful day. All of the tutors were very friendly and enthusiastic, and really sparked the enthusiasm of our students. It was an excellent experience which tied in well to our weekly Mandarin lessons.
